TECHNOLOGY

Engineering Concrete,
On Wheels

HaulMix is a technology and engineering-driven equipment company building fully automatic, weight-based mobile concrete mixers that deliver RMC-plant precision anywhere, anytime.

OVERVIEW

Technologies used at Haulmix

At HaulMix, technology isn’t an add-on—it’s the core philosophy. We design mobile concrete production systems that combine precision batching, robust hydraulics, and intelligent controls to produce consistent, specification-grade concrete on site.

Our approach is simple: bring the accuracy and repeatability of a stationary RMC plant into a truck-mounted platform, while eliminating the need for permanent infrastructure, external power, and material wastage. Every HaulMix mixer is engineered to batch solid ingredients by weight, dose liquids precisely, mix in a high-torque PAN mixer, and discharge only after the batch meets defined parameters.

Engineering & Product Development

HaulMix equipment emerges from a disciplined product development cycle: concept validation → system architecture → subsystem prototyping → integration → field trials → iterative refinement.

Key engineering pillars include

System-level integration

Hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical structures are co-designed to work as a single, reliable system on wheels.

Modular architecture

Compartments for aggregates, cement/fly ash/GGBS, water, and admixtures are engineered for quick changeovers and scalable capacities (6–12 m³ transport).

Safety-first design

24 VDC control architecture and interlocked sequences reduce electrical risk and prevent out-of-sequence operations.

Maintainability

Service points, quick couplers, and accessible components minimize downtime in real-world site conditions.

PLC Automation & Controls

HaulMix uses industrial-grade PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) automation as the “central nervous system” of each mixer. The PLC executes the complete production cycle: recipe selection, weighing, dosing, mixing sequence & discharge control.

What this means in practice

Recipe-driven batching

Operators select a mix design; the PLC enforces proportions and sequence without manual guesswork.

Real-time monitoring

Sensors feed data to the PLC, which adjusts actuators and valves to maintain target parameters.

Data & traceability

Production logs and batch reports support quality assurance and accountability.

Human-intervention-free operation

Interlocks and automated sequences reduce operator error and variability.

Electronic Load-Cell Technology

Precision starts with measurement. HaulMix integrates multiple electronic load cells to weigh solid ingredients directly at the point of batching, similar to conventional RMC plants.

Benefits of load-cell-based weighing

Weight-based accuracy

Aggregates and binders are measured by weight, not volume, ensuring correct proportions batch after batch.

Consistency

Electronic load cells provide stable, repeatable readings under mobile conditions.

Quality compliance

Accurate ingredient measurement supports compliance with mix-design specifications and strength targets.

In HaulMix systems, load cells work in tandem with the PLC to close the loop between “target weight” and “actual weight,” enabling tight control over every batch.

Hydraulic Technology

HaulMix’s patented hydraulic drive system is the muscle behind its mobility and precision. Instead of relying on external power or complex mechanical linkages, critical functions—feeding, mixing, water/admixture dosing, and discharge—are powered by a purpose-built hydraulic circuit.

Key aspects

Patented hydraulic circuit

Designed for high flow, high torque, and fast cycle times while maintaining control and safety.

Integrated power unit

A dedicated slave engine runs only during production, switching off during transit to save fuel and reduce wear.

Responsive actuation

Hydraulic motors and valves enable rapid, synchronized operations for water discharge, admixture dosing, and mixer control.

This architecture allows HaulMix to deliver plant-like performance on a mobile chassis without compromising reliability.

Mixing Technology

At the heart of every HaulMix mixer is a high-speed, high-torque PAN mixer—an industry-proven design for homogeneous concrete in short cycle times.

Why PAN mixing matters

Intensive mixing action

PAN mixers create strong shear and turbulence, ensuring uniform distribution of cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures.

Controlled discharge

The discharge gate opens only after the batch completes the required mixing time, protecting consistency and strength.

Batch-wise discipline

Each batch is a controlled event with defined start, mix, and discharge—unlike continuous volumetric systems.

The result is a highly homogeneous mix that meets structural and workability requirements, even in demanding site environments.

Water Management Technology

Water control is critical for workability and strength. HaulMix incorporates dedicated water tanks, high-flow pumps, and hydraulically operated valves to dose water precisely and rapidly.

Highlights

Segregated, swivel-able tanks

Interconnected water tanks with patented design support balanced weight distribution and flexible site operations.

Fast, accurate dosing

High-flow pumps and large-diameter discharge lines reduce cycle time while maintaining dosage accuracy.

W/C ratio discipline

Precise water measurement supports target water–cement ratios, directly influencing strength and durability.

By treating water as a measured ingredient—not an estimate—HaulMix improves batch-to-batch consistency.

Pollution Control Technology

Environmental performance is a core differentiator for HaulMix. The system is designed to minimize material wastage, wash-water runoff, and uncontrolled discharge—common sources of pollution in traditional concrete operations.

Key features

On-board, PLC-operated pollution control

Automated sequences and interlocks prevent uncontrolled material release and support cleaner operations.

Zero/low-wastage batching

Weight-based batching and closed sequences reduce spillage and leftover material.

Urban-friendly operation

By producing concrete on demand at or near the point of use, HaulMix reduces wash-water discharge in city areas and the environmental footprint of long-distance wet transport.

This aligns HaulMix with modern sustainability expectations for construction equipment.

R&D / Innovation

HaulMix is the product of continuous R&D focused on mobile concrete production. Indian Mobile Equipment (IME) has iterated designs, control logic, and subsystems to push the boundaries of what a truck-mounted mixer can do.
